Call for Papers

The International Workshop on Advances in Energy Studies 2012 is the eighth edition in an ongoing series of biennial meetings dedicated to advances, innovation and vision in energy and energy-related environmental and socio-economic issues. Energy security for sustainable development is one of the most obvious but least discussed topics in the present times. In this workshop, the Energy Studies community will bring the issue to centre stage and challenges the participants to come up with practical solutions to the problem.

Paper submission: The call for papers is now open and proposals for contributions can be submitted through our website: http://www.igidr.in/conf/AES2012 through the Submit Abstract menu before February 29, 2012. They need to be set in MS-Word format and not exceed 500 words. Please put your name and e-mail id in the abstract file. For convenience include your name as part of the file name. All submissions will be peer-reviewed by a panel of experts. Selected abstracts will be considered for full papers/posters. Papers/posters will be further reviewed for final acceptance. The accepted papers will be invited for presentation and published in the conference proceedings. Select papers presented at the conference will be brought out as a volume later.

- Energy inter-dependence - Trilateral energy demand US, Europe and Asia
- Energy trade and investment engagement - Regional energy competitiveness

- Political economy of energy supply - Cross-border energy Trade


Role of Technology in Development: Institutions and Governance:
- Renewable energy technologies and resources - The human dimension institutions and patterns for the governance of energy systems
- Energy transition, security and competitiveness - Energy infrastructure
- Efficiency patterns industrial, transportation, agricultural and household sectors - Universalisation of modern energy services
- Perspectives of Nuclear energy - Urbanization alternative energy patterns for the cities of the third millennium
- Capacity building in Energy technology management - Long-term energy security

Registration fee: Rs. 2,000/- (Academics); Rs.1,000 (students), Rs.5,000 (industry delegates).

Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of "IGIDR" payable at Mumbai, India. For foreign delegates the fee is US $150 (Academics); US $ 50/- (students) (through paypal).
