'Money and Finance in The Indian Economy'

Call for Papers

The Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) will be hosting its 12th Annual Conference on Money and Finance in the Indian Economy on 11-12  March 2010. Prof. Barry Eichengreen, Professor of Economics and Political Science, University of California, Berkeley will deliver the keynote address titled “The Dollar, the International Monetary System, and the Implications for Emerging Markets”. Submissions are invited for contributed papers on all theoretical and empirical aspects of monetary and financial economics. Papers on the following topics are particularly welcome:

  1. Collateral Benefits of Capital Account Liberalization
  2. Agricultural Credit Delivery System in India
  3. Financial Sector Reform: Institutional and Legal Aspects
  4. Inflationary Potential of Fiscal Stimuli

Guidelines for paper submission
  1. Complete, unpublished papers should be submitted online in  Adobe PDF format after logging in at

    [Authors who don’t have a login at easy chair need to create one using the icon “I have no easy chair account” on the above mentioned site].
  2. In case of any difficulty papers should also be sent to the following email address – Email: mfc@igidr.ac.in
  3. The papers should reach on or before 15th January 2010. All submissions will be reviewed and the authors will be informed by 30th January 2010.
  4. A few papers submitted and presented at the Conference could be considered for possible publication in the Journal of Quantitative Economics or Journal of Macroeconomics and Finance in Emerging Market Economies see http://www.informaworld.com/mfeme
    Authors of accepted papers may be requested to act as discussants for other papers. Limited travel subsidy for authors of accepted papers will be provided (within India).
