CALL FOR PAPERS

Development Convention is held every year by Southern Institutes of Indian Council of Social Science Research.
IPE hosts the VII Development Convention and invites papers on the above theme with the primary objective to
analyse the problems pertaining to development issues of India in general and southern states in particular and to
bring forth the dynamism of the services and manufacturing sectors in the context of the growing Indian economy.

Paper should address the larger issues of

  1. Growth strategies-old, new economy models
  2. Sectoral shifts and emerging challenges
  3. Productivity trends across sectors (IT, Biotech, Pharma; etc)
  4. Reform process and its impact
  5. International issues - trade and foreign capital; CAC; WTO & IPR
  6. Issues in Public inance
  7. Social issues - poverty, unemployment, inequality, rural indebtedness, health, etc.

    The convention attempts to be a platform for industry-academia interface to bring forth the futur implications
    of these developments in transforming India into a global business hub and in formulating and assessing future
    policy for the various sectors of the Indian economy.

    Last date for submitting Final paper:10th December 2007

    Acceptance of Final Paper:17th January 2008
